Equipping for Ministry Network

Equipping People for Ministry in the 21st Century

The Equipping for Ministry Network provides opportunities for churches and individuals to work together to provide resources for growth and nurture of people in ministry.  A library of resources may be accessed and checked out by churches or individual members. 

The Network churches meet together to respond to requests for workshops or materials.  In addition the Network provides staffing by educators and librarians to maintain the resources and assist clients.  There is a group within the Network that provides current and up-to-date online tools for learning and a group that plans and schedules workshops and speakers.

The Learning Resource Center

The Learning Resource Center  (LRC)* is arranged by Dewey Decimal System and all materials are cataloged online. One room contains all of the books and print resources and the other houses the audio-visual resources and the children’s collection.

The LRC is open anytime the church is open and is fully handicapped accessible.  On Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning the LRC is staffed; other times by appointment.  Every effort is made to provide copies of curriculum samples.  There is an extensive collection of student books for support of Adult Education curriculum.

*The LRC is the property of Southminster Presbyterian Church.  The LRC is maintained in part through the gifts of time and money from churches and individuals who use its collections and through the cooperative purchasing power of Network members.  Support is also received from Presbytery of the Miami Valley through the Equipping for Ministry Network.  Membership in the Network is open to individuals and to churches of all denominations.

Online Learning Resources

A sub-group of the Network works to provide a listing of online resources that might be helpful for Reformed churches and their members.  Every effort is made to connect also with a listing of resource people within the presbytery and denominations who might provide help with programs and ideas. Speakers

A sub-group of the Network works to provide speakers at regular intervals currently in cooperation with United Theological Seminary.  Other speakers may be invited if two or more churches cooperate in sponsoring a speaker or topic.

The Sunday School Network

The Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) recently launched an online network for ministry leaders that includes a web page for Sunday school teachers and coordinators. With new articles and blogs appearing regularly, and a forum for posting questions, this site is a great source for ideas and encouragement.
