Hispanic Ministries and the Coordinating Council of Miami Presbytery invite you to attend a luncheon Thursday, September 28, 2006, 11:30 A.M., Miami Presbytery Offices, 1541 S. Smithville Rd., Dayton, Ohio

Attorney Julia A. Thorne, Manager for Immigration Issues and Immigration Counsel for the PC(USA) will be our guest speaker.

Julia Thorne is an attorney in the Office of Immigration Issues. This Office is located in Constitutional Services in the Office of the General Assembly.  It is her privilege to resource and advise presbyteries and churches regarding immigration issues.  The Immigration Issues Office also works with presbyteries, churches and interfaith partners on advocacy for the reform of current immigration policies and procedures and laws in accordance with General Assembly policy.  Since graduating from college, Julia has worked with internationals as Foreign Student Advisor, College Instructor, Campus Minister and Private Immigration Attorney.

For those who prefer an evening event, a longer forum with Attorney Julia Thorne will be held same evening September 28th at 7 pm at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1541 S. Smithville Rd., Dayton, Ohio.

Attorney Julia Thorne will discuss the history of American Immigration Policy and the position of the Presbyterian Church (USA), followed by a time for questions, answers, and feedback.

People are asked to invite others from their churches for the evening session, especially for those who have questions, or an interest in this topic.
