Judy Kolwicz is named Interim Executive Presbyter
To join Miami Presbytery staff on April 15

Judy Kolwicz is not a stranger to Ohio. She first came to Ohio in the mid sixties to do graduate work in guidance and counseling at Ohio University in Athens. After earning a Master’s degree, she stayed at O.U. to work in student services.

Judy moved to Columbus where she and her former husband had three children. She was a stay at home mom for nine years and an active Elder both in St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Columbus and the Presbytery of Scioto Valley.

That presbytery ordained Judy to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament after her graduation from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus in 1982. She served congregations in Ohio and North Dakota and served as Interim Associate Executive in the Synod of the Covenant and as Executive Presbyter in Cascades Presbytery and the Presbytery of Twin Cities Area.

Judy is the mother of three grown children and grandmother of eight.

Judy is excited about coming to The Miami Presbytery

“Doing something new is always energizing for me. I love change! I enjoy meeting new people and new challenges. I am looking forward to getting to know the congregations and leaders of The Miami Presbytery as well as hearing the recommendations of the strategic planning group that will shape our time together.

“I’d like the presbytery to know how much I appreciated the hospitality extended to me by the search committee. They helped me to know that Miami Presbytery would be a good place to call home for a little while.

“I am excited about coming to join you in ministry and mission.”
