-You must see that justice is done, and must show kindness and mercy to one another. Zechariah 7:9

Hispanic Ministries of the Miami Presbytery works directly with congregations and with the poor in areas of outreach, evangelism, justice, education, advocacy, and direct service.

Hispanic/Latinos are the largest and fastest growing minority group in the United States today, with an estimated 200,000 Hispanics/Latinos living in Ohio. In the Miami Valley, we have seen their numbers triple in the last ten years.

There is an urgent need for this ministry. As God’s people, we are called to reach out and to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to these new immigrants- our brothers and sisters who live among us.

The Miami Presbytery responds to the gospel of Jesus Christ through this holistic ministry.  We see this ministry of witness and works as vital to the credibility of our call to the poor in our own communities.

How Hispanic Ministries serves:

-Major areas of ministry include evangelism, pastoral care, on site visits to those in need, and working with congregations in the Miami Valley to develop Bible fellowships, worship programs, prayer, education, Bible study, advocacy, and health fairs.

-Hispanic Ministries seeks to educate and empower through the Lay Pastor Institute, English and Spanish classes, camp scholarships, vacation Bible schools, and training for seminars and conferences.

-Hispanic Ministries also provides direct assistance to individuals and families in need. Assistance includes emergency food and clothing, health fairs and education, translation service, enrolling Hispanic/Latino children in regional schools, providing school supplies, assisting with legal issues, participation and planning of cultural events, immigration forums, and working with the Mexican Consulate.

-Hispanic Ministries is involved in advocacy and networks with other organizations to promote justice issues for Hispanics/Latinos.

-Hispanic Ministries seeks to promote mutual understanding within diverse communities.

Support for Hispanic Ministries

With the financial support of member churches and individuals, we can, through matching grants, double or even triple our own resources to fulfill the expanding needs of the Hispanic/Latino community in the Miami Valley.
