Rev. Rob Smith wins Frost Poetry Award
Retired minister, member of Miami Presbytery

The Rev. Rob Smith, an honorably retired minister member of Miami (OH) Presbytery, has won the prestigious Robert Frost Poetry Award from the Robert Frost Foundation of Lawrence, MA.

Also a novelist, Smith was announced as the 10th winner of the award on Oct. 28. His winning poem, “Catbird,” was chosen from among 650 entries from 12 countries. Smith will receive a $1,000 cash prize.

A native of Youngstown, OH, Smith graduated from Westminster (PA) College and Princeton Theological Seminary. He served congregations in Ohio and Pennsylvania for 31 years and is pastor emeritus at First Presbyterian Church of Fairborn, OH. Presbyterian News Service
