Mark Tamthai is the director of the Institute for the Study of Religion and Culture at Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  His work covers the areas of fostering interreligious and intrareligious understanding and peacemaking/reconciliation programs. He is a member of the National Reconciliation Commission which deals with the violence in southern Thailand.  

Mark is in the United States for a month as part of the International Peacemaker Program of the Peacemaking Program (PCUSA).   

He will be speaking at the Dayton International Peace Museum on Saturday, September 30 at 1:00 P.M. His  topic will be “The Relationship Between Interreligious Dialogue and Intrareligious Dialogue:Implications for Peacebuilding.” 

Mark will also speak at a gathering at Sinclair Community College on Tuesday, October 3, 12:00 noon–1 P.M..  His topic will be “Nonviolence and Peacemaking.”
