Princeton Theological Seminary President to Preach
Westminster Presbyterian Church, Dayton

Iain Torrance, the sixth president of Princeton Theological Seminary, and professor of patristics, will preach at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Presbyterian Heritage Sunday, February 11 at 10:00 AM. This service will include Miami Valley Pipes and Drums and all are welcome. The church is located at 125 N. Wilkinson St. in downtown Dayton. 

Sandy McConnel, Pastor of Westminster Church said, “We are delighted to have Dr. Torrance join us on February 11. Through his years as a scholar and a pastor, Dr. Torrance will not only give our congregation insight into theological education, and the role of the church in the world, but also into how best to accomplish our mission as servants of Jesus Christ.” 

Inaugurated and installed as president of Princeton Theological Seminary in March 2005, Torrance, a native of Scotland, served most recently as the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland and as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Divinity at the University of Aberdeen and Master of Christ’s College, Aberdeen. In 2001, Torrance was appointed a Chaplain-in-Ordinary to Her Majesty the Queen in Scotland.

Princeton Theological Seminary, founded in 1812 to educate ministers and leaders for the church, is the largest and one of the oldest Presbyterian theological institutions in the United States. It offers five graduate degree programs (mastersand doctoral level) and has more than 10,000 graduates serving the church throughout the world.
