College Hill Church

Northwest FISH

Food Pantry

The emergency food pantry serves hungry persons in northwest Dayton and is supported by 10-12 churches in this area. It is a non-profit corporation licensed by the State of Ohio and Montgomery County Hunger Coalition. All persons serviced must be referred by The Northwest Clearing House.

The pantry has been in operation since 1974 and has served approximately 3,000 individuals annually. All staff people are volunteers. Most of the staff are senior citizens who have been serving for 25 years. We are in need of volunteers to continue this important service. At one time 15 people from College Hill were actively involved. Now only 2 are left and they are wearing out.

The Northwest FISH and the Food Pantry programs serve a broad-based community. They provide much needed emergency assistance to individuals and families in the northwestern quadrant of Dayton. College Hill Church coordinators for these programs are Paul and Jean Behrens and Luanne and Eugene Weaver. These programs are in urgent need an infusion of new workers. Please call The Weavers or Behrens to offer your help.
