Pictures and Information from "Meet the Moderator" on March 13th, 2006

On March 13th, we had the opportunity to talk, eat, discuss, and ask questions to, with, and about Rick Ufford-Chase, who is currently the Moderator for the PCUSA.  Below is a short biography of Rick, and below that his website address, and pictures.

Rick Ufford-Chase has been working on the U.S./Mexico border for more than 15 years. He is the co-founder and co-director of BorderLinks, a binational organization that provides experiential education on issues such as trade and globalization and the concerns of migrants on the border. Rick is sponsored in that work as a Mission Co-Worker in the Worldwide Ministries division of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He is a co-moderator of the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, a founder of the Samaritans (an organization providing emergency assistance to migrants in the borderlands of southern Arizona), and a reservist as a nonviolent peacemaker in situations of conflict with Christian Peacemaker Teams. Rick is married to Kitty, and they have an eight-year-old son, Teo. Kitty is a lifelong Quaker who has a Masters degree in Intercultural Relations. She spent the last 11 years working as the director of the American Friends Service Committee Arizona Area Office. Rick, Kitty and Teo spent six months in Guatemala during 2003, during which time Rick worked for the Evangelical Center for Pastoral Studies in Central America, a mission partner of the Presbyterian Church, (USA).
