Presbyterian Women Spring Gathering |
Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery of the Miami Valley
will hold their Spring Gathering Saturday,
April 12.
Past Moderators of Presbyterian Women will be honored. A
Spa Day and lunch will also be included.

Commissioned Lay Pastors Seminar |
The Commissioned Lay
Pastors Task Force of Miami Presbytery will hold a
special continuing education seminar of May 4
in the sanctuary of Memorial Presbyterian Church,
Dayton.
The seminar is open to
Commissioned Lay Pastors, interested Elders, seminary
students, and candidates for ordination.

NORTH WEST NEIGHBORHOOD
 Westminster
Presbyterian Church, Piqua (Pastor Judy Rich)
In response to violence in Darfur, the Mission
Committee, along with an adult Sunday School class,
painted squares of canvas with messages and symbols of
peace. The squares were stitched together and added to
some squares made by Darfur refugees. The completed
works will become tents for people displaced by the
violence in Darfur.
First Presbyterian Church, Troy
(Pastor Richard Culp) Youth Sunday, April 21, will
feature a special worship service written and
presented by FPC youth and the youth of two other Troy
churches. The theme of the service will be The Good
Samaritan.
NORTH EAST
NEIGHBORHOOD
Westminster
Presbyterian Church, Xenia (Pastor Brian
Maguire) will recognize 50-year members at a
reception following worship on April 13.
First Presbyterian
Church, Yellow Springs (Interim Pastor
Preston Dawes) will hold a workshop on
communication on April 19 for members of the
congregation. The workshop will be led by The Rev.
David Fleming.
SOUTH EAST NEIGHBORHOOD
 Bellbrook
Presbyterian Church, Bellbrook
(Interim Pastor Stan Gockel) The church will
welcome its Interim Pastor at a luncheon
reception to be held April 13, 11:00 A.M. at
the church.
Lebanon
Presbyterian Church, Lebanon (Pastor
Peter Larson) will celebrate the completion of
its $3 million building program with an open
house on Sunday, April 27, from 2:00-5:00 P.M.
SOUTH WEST NEIGHBORHOOD
First Presbyterian Church, Middletown
(Pastor Tim Doty) Church members can have Lunch
with the Pastor, on the second and fourth Mondays
of the month. People bring their own lunches and
beverages are provided. Participants talk about
whatever comes up: "Sometimes there are questions
about the church or about the Bible, and sometimes
conversation that has nothing to do with religion."
Oxford Presbyterian Church, Oxford
(Pastors Mark Barnes and Barbara Barnes) The church
maintains a partnership with the First Church of
Zlatoust, Russia. The two churches have begun a
written dialogue (in English and Russian) through the
exchange of letters.
Mt.
Olivet Presbyterian Church, Trenton
(Pastor Chuck Testes) The church web site maintains an
archive called "The Pastor's Blog" that includes a
collection of thoughts and devotions written by Rev.
Testes that have appeared in the local newspaper or
previous editions of the church newsletter.
